Anderlecht still faces question marks in its selection for next season. Kasper Schmeichel and Jan Vertonghen will in principle only decide after the European Championship whether they will extend their contract. The club is also trying to keep the three players on loan from Sevilla.

Anderlecht would in principle like to keep Federico Gattoni and certainly Ludwig Augustinsson and Thomas Delaney. Sevilla FC also want to get rid of them and therefore do not make excessive demands, but in recent weeks the salary conditions of the last two seemed to be the real problem.

Metinho linked with Anderlecht

For now, keeping them still seems to be the priority, but Anderlecht also seems to already be anticipating the possibility of not finding an agreement. This is why the club is also looking for reinforcements in midfield, where Arnstad, Ashimeru and Diawara could also leave.

To do this, Metinho’s name was brought forward from the Netherlands. The 21-year-old Brazilian belongs to the City Football Group, which signed him to Troyes in 2022. In the last two seasons he has been on loan: first to Lommel, then to Sparta Rotterdam.

Growing interest in City group talents

Metinho scored two goals and provided an assist in 27 matches last season. Sparta would like to hire him for a new season, but according to PL Brasil, Belgian and Swiss teams also want to recruit him temporarily. This therefore includes Anderlecht.

Furthermore, Metinho could also leave Troyes permanently as two Premier League clubs are also said to be interested in a permanent transfer. Metinho could thus follow in the footsteps of his compatriot Vinicius Souza. He too came to the Premier League via Lommel, where he played for Sheffield United last season.
