Domencio Tedesco is approaching this Euro as if he were playing at home. Indeed, the choice of the Devils’ base camp is not a coincidence.
It’s not a secret, Domenico Tedesco pushed for the Red Devils to take up residence in Freiberg, a stone’s throw from Stuttgart. It must be said that our coach knows the place quite well.
His Italian parents moved to the region when little Domenico was only two years old. He played and began coaching in Aichwald, a town of 8,000 people 25 kilometers as the crow flies from Freiberg.
Tedesco therefore keeps a lot of memories there…and the opposite is true too. Het Laatste Nieuws actually met several childhood friends of the coach.

“I’m a coach too, but not at the same level as you, I stayed there, it all started for us. I wish you good luck for the Euro, we’ll see you again soon” says Timo, ASV coach Aichwald.
Even the mayor gave his personal encouragement: “Of course we support Germany, but we would be delighted to play against Germany. Belgium finally. We may be crossing our fingers for Germany, but it would be a strong moment in the commune,” he says.
