Pre-match statistics Real Salt Lake v. CF Montreal

At the end of a two-week international break, CF Montreal will reconnect with its fans on Saturday at Stade Saputo when it hosts Real Salt Lake.

This cessation of activities is likely to prove beneficial for the squad, while several players recovered from injuries could play the match. Head coach Laurent Courtois indicated on Friday that Matias Coccaro, Josef Martinez, Mahala Opoku and Mason Toye will be available on Saturday evening.

The CFM is undefeated in three matches since May 25. He is now only two points from ninth place in the Eastern Association. The overall record of the Montreal eleven is 4-7-5, good for 12e place.

It will be a heavy task for the Bleu-blanc-noir while Real Salt Lake sits in first place in the Western Association. He has not suffered a defeat in his last 13 matches (8-0-5); the only losses were suffered in the curtain-raiser in Miami and in March, against the Colorado Rapids.

The Montreal defense will have to contain the leader in goals in the MLS, Cristian Arango, who has scored 16 goals in 17 games this season, including a hat trick in his last start.

CFM did not face Real Salt Lake last year. In May 2022, the Utah team prevailed 2-1 at Stade Saputo.

Joel Waterman will make his 100e start in the MLS this evening.
