The control of the flagship organization of European football over match ticket sales is contested before the courts and the European Commission. His detractors accuse him of encouraging speculation at the expense of supporters.

Like any sports competition organizer, UEFA has a monopoly on ticket sales in stadiums. As such, it has a dedicated subsidiary, UEFA Events, and an online platform responsible for selling merchandise for the continental competition which begins this Friday, June 14 in Munich. But it also arrogates to itself the monopoly on the resale of tickets, this vast free-for-all.

Last October, it put on sale the 2.7 million seats available in the various German stadiums throughout the competition. And had received no less than 20 million online requests. Blind: the groups had not yet been formed, due to play-off matches still in progress to designate the final qualified countries. The different football fans then had to exchange places once the location of the matches had been defined. After the group stage, there will be a repeat in the knockout phase, with supporters of qualified teams having to buy them back from the eliminated teams.

It is this secondary monopoly that the company Ticombo, specializing in the online resale of tickets for sporting or cultural shows, is contesting. A very active market for good or bad reasons, such as a last minute private or professional imperative preventing you from attending
