The general picture of this start to the season for the Montreal Canadiens is anything but good, and the team’s vice-president of hockey operations, Jeff Gorton, certainly does not like what he sees.

Obviously, his reign with CH, which began almost three years ago, was not a great success in terms of results on the ice, since he arrived with a clear goal: to rebuild the team.

Still, Gorton probably isn’t happy with what he’s seeing on the ice since the start of the regular season. The Canadian is 29e in the general ranking of the National Hockey League, with the worst differential in the circuit (-18).

One of the reasons that could explain his dissatisfaction? The overly “pro-player” environment established by general manager Kent Hughes and head coach Martin St-Louis, according to former Habs instructor Michel Therrien.

“You look at the rest, it’s people who are pro-players,” he declared during the show JiCbroadcast on TVA Sports, Thursday. A former agent [Kent Hughes] will defend players. It’s normal, it’s part of their job. The coach [Martin St-Louis]he’s a former player, so he must not have liked some coaches, and he probably coaches how he liked to be coached.

“This is the reality we are facing at the moment,” continued Therrien. It’s clear that Jeff Gorton doesn’t like how he sees things going, especially with the experience he has.”
