Kangaroo controversy overwhelms Raygun as he retires from breaking

Australian breaking dancer Rachel Gunn, better known as “Raygun”, has indicated she will no longer dance competitively following the scandal at this summer’s Olympics.

She made the announcement on Australian radio. 2DayFMWednesday.

During her performance at the Olympic Games, the first time that the breaking event was presented there, the B-girl caused reactions with certain movements including the kangaroo pose which had generated its share of criticism on the international scene. She had not collected any points in three rounds.

The 37-year-old university lecturer was the target of numerous criticisms and some had even questioned her presence at the Olympic Games in the discipline, suggesting her lack of seriousness. She had already suggested that the reactions to her performance had taken away the joy of dancing competitively and that is why she is withdrawing from the dance floor.

“Dancing is so fun and it makes you feel good. I don’t think people should feel bad for the way they dance. », she shared on the airwaves of 2DayFM.

“I still dance, I still break, but you know, it’s in my living room with my partner,” she added.
