There are certain football games that matter more than others in a season. This summit of the fifth day of the UEFA Champions League between Bayern Munich and Paris SG is one of them. It is this Tuesday, November 26, at 9:00 p.m. on CANAL+Live, that Paris SG plays part of its European future in Bavaria. Halfway through, the team coached by Luis Enrique was ranked 25th, meaning they were virtually eliminated from the competition. More annoying, the Parisians have behind them the matches which, on paper, were the easiest to play. From now on, Paris SG will have to face Bayern Munich, Salzburg, Manchester City and Stuttgart. Paris is however far from being eliminated, but we will have to bring back points from the Allianz Arena. The Munich residents are 17th in the general ranking, a play-off position. This poster between Bayern Munich and Paris SG is a shock between the two leaders of the Bundesliga and Ligue 1 McDonald's. It is also the remake of the 2020 UEFA Champions League final, at the end of which the Germans won 0-1.
A high-level clash between Bayern Munich and Paris SG
With their backs to the wall, Paris SG is therefore 25th out of 36 in this mini-championship that the UEFA Champions League offers us in an unprecedented way. A victory is therefore almost obligatory for Luis Enrique's players. After 4 days, Paris SG has 4 points with 1 victory, 1 draw and 2 defeats. The Parisians won their very first match of the tournament, timidly against Girona (1-0). Since then, Paris has been in failure since it lost in London against Arsenal (2-0), was held at home by PSV Eindhoven (1-1) then was beaten by Atlético de Madrid during the final day (1-2). A setback in the final moments of the game which put a serious blow to the Parisians' heads. On the other hand, everything is going well for Paris SG in Ligue 1 McDonald's, since it is at the top of the general classification and is gradually widening the gap with its pursuers. Top scorer in the French championship, Bradley Barcola, on the other hand, is struggling to cross the European threshold. However, he remains one of the strong men of this Parisian team, just like the twirling Ousmane Dembélé and the ever-present Marquinhos. If Paris SG is in a delicate position, Bayern Munich is also not at its best in this UEFA Champions League. The Bavarians are 17th and have 6 points. After being sparkling on the first day against Dinamo Zagreb (9-2 victory), the Germans, however, disappointed at Aston Villa (1-0 defeat) and Barcelona (4-1 defeat). However, they bounced back on the fourth day by beating Benfica at home (1-0). Dominators in the Bundesliga, Vincent Kompany's men can still count on the excellent Harry Kane, who already has 11 goals and 5 assists in the league after 10 matches played. The captain of the Three Lions is also formidable in C1, having already scored 5 times this season. There are other shocks to follow this week in the UEFA Champions League with FC Barcelona – Brest (Tuesday November 26, 9 p.m. on CANAL+SPORT), AS Monaco – Benfica Lisbon (Wednesday November 27, 9 p.m. on CANAL+) and Bologna – Lille (Wednesday November 27, 9 p.m. on CANAL+FOOT).
