Around thirty lucky people will have the opportunity to attend the parade of 10,500 athletes on the Seine and meet Mathieu Lehanneur, designer and creator of the torch for the Paris 2024 Olympic Games.

This is a unique event which will be held on the night of July 26 to 27. Around thirty lucky people will have the opportunity to enjoy the opening ceremony of the Paris 2024 Olympic Games from the terrace of the Musée d’Orsay. Last month, Airbnb had already revealed the possibility of spending a night behind the museum’s emblematic clock. The two people selected will join the 28 others on the terrace during the festivities.

The evening will begin “in the nave of the Musée d’Orsay, where an art historian will offer guests an exclusive tour of the largest collection of impressionist art in the world”specifies Airbnb. “The visit will end on the museum terrace, transformed into a secret garden offering an unparalleled view of the Seine”. Among those invited will be Mathieu Lehanneur, designer and creator of the torch and cauldron for the Paris 2024 Games.

The host of the evening not only designed the room behind the clock but also the smallest details of the terrace. “Our design team paid homage to the facade of the Musée d’Orsay by installing arches. They open the way to a wonderful world”, explains Mathieu Lehanneur. The designer’s creations will also be on display, including the Olympic torch.

“Crispy lobster bites”

On the menu side, a tasting bar will offer “crispy lobster and leek bites with a hint of anise”of “brie with apricot blossom” or even “Floral flavored ice lollies”. The refreshments will be inspired by garden flowers and concocted by Margot Lecarpentier, named the most influential mixologist in Paris by 50 Best in its list of the best bars in the world in 2020. Enough to make the mouths of guests water, who will also be able to sway to the notes of DJ Kirou, founder of the Parisian artistic and musical collective 99GINGER.

To have the chance to attend this evening, simply go to the announcement link, reservations for which will open from June 13, at 3 p.m. THE “travelers” will have to answer a question and explain their motivations. Airbnb will then take care of randomly selecting “a group of potential travelers”. “We will examine their responses to get to know them better and understand the reasons why they want to participate in this iconic experience”, completes the reservations platform. The selected people will then have “24 hours to complete the reservation” and enjoy this experience that they will only have once in their life.
