The Eagles’ greed came close to costing them the victory late in the game, but Philadelphia found a way to have the last word in a 28-23 win against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.

It took spectacular plays from Saquon Barkley, DeVonta Smith and a well-timed interception from Nakobe Dean to allow Nick Sirianni to leave the field in front of his fans with a sixth victory this season. The Eagles came close to blowing a 22-point lead.

Hurts connected with Barkley with a 20-yard touchdown pass to open the scoring in the first quarter. The running back returned to the attack in the second quarter. He first accomplished an acrobatic maneuver by jumping with his back to a rival to avoid him. A few plays later, Barkley reached the end zone with a 19-yard run, even though the Eagles found themselves on third down and 17 yards to go.

Hurts increased his team’s lead to 22 points early in the third quarter with a touchdown after an 18-yard run.

Everything was going well for Philadelphia, but the attack left points on the board. The Eagles offensive unit was held back twice on fourth down attempts and on two other occasions also for two-point conversions.

These games came to catch up with the Pennsylvania troop. The Jaguars offense finally got going after the Eagles quarterback’s touchdown. Trevor Lawrence himself ended a 10-play streak with a touchdown on a quarterback sneak.

A controversial turnaround then came to smile on the Jaguars. Barkley fell to the ground and trying to add yards, he fumbled the ball, which was recovered by Travon Walker and he went up the field 35 yards for the touchdown. The Eagles running back was ruled untouched before falling to the ground, but the play was very close.

With just a six-point lead, Hurts again converted a long third down for a touchdown in the fourth quarter. He can thank DeVonta Smith, who stretched his arm in the end zone to catch his 25-yard, one-handed pass. Another botched conversion kept the lead at 12 points.

Lawrence responded once again with his legs and his second touchdown of the game brought Jacksonville within five points.

Philly had a chance to build an eight-point cushion with just over two minutes left, but Jake Elliott missed a 57-yard field goal. Jacksonville was inching closer and closer to the Eagles’ end zone with the game-winning touchdown in sight, when Lawrence saw his pass intercepted in the end zone by a leaping Nakobe Dean. This spectacular play confirmed the victory of the Eagles who were hot.

Barkley had another strong ground game with 159 yards on 27 carries. He also had 40 passing yards to cross the 1,000-yard plateau this season. Hurts completed 18 of 24 passes for 230 yards.

In addition to his two rushing touchdowns, Lawrence only amassed 169 yards and was the victim of two interceptions.

Philadelphia Eagles wide receiver AJ Brown left the game against the Jaguars with a knee injury.

The organization confirmed the injury in the third quarter. He was limited to two catches for 36 yards in the first half.

The receiver has already missed three games this season due to a hamstring injury. In four games, he amassed 408 yards and three touchdowns.

Happy times for the Cards

Emari Demercado had a 53-yard run for a touchdown, helping the Arizona Cardinals win 29-9 against the Chicago Bears.

It was the third straight victory for the Cards (5-4), who have won four of their last five games.

Demercado scored with four seconds remaining in the second quarter, bringing his team’s lead to 20-9.

Chad Ryland added field goals of 29 and 55 yards in the second half.

Kyler Murray had 154 passing yards and James Conner generated 107 rushing yards.

Arizona will host the New York Jets next Sunday.

For the Bears (4-4), Caleb Williams was the victim of six sacks, including two from Zaven Collins. He had 216 passing yards.

Chicago could do no better than three precision kicks from Cairo Santos, including two from 53 yards.

Robinson’s hand makes the difference

Demarcus Robinson caught a 39-yard touchdown pass in overtime with one hand, giving the Los Angeles Rams a 26-20 victory over the Seattle Seahawks.

The Rams only needed a field goal after stopping the Seahawks on a fourth down in overtime.

Matthew Stafford, however, bet big with a long pass to Robinson, who was well covered by Riq Woolen.

Robinson got the job done, getting his second touchdown of the game and his fourth in two games.

He accumulated 94 yards on six catches.

Stafford had 298 air yards, including two touchdown passes.

It was a third straight win for the Rams (4-4).

Before the streak, the club had lost four times in five outings.

Geno Smith totaled 363 air yards. Three passes resulted in touchdowns, but he also had three interceptions.

The Seahawks (4-5) have lost their last four games at home.

Jaxon Smith-Njigba set a career high with 180 receiving yards, including two touchdowns.
