Mike Tyson’s recent ulcer outbreak suffered during a flight forced the postponement of his highly anticipated fight against Jake Paul, but the new date is not yet known.

The 57-year-old suffered a medical emergency during his plane ride from Miami to Los Angeles on Sunday. He was struck by nausea and dizziness and was treated by paramedics when he arrived in California, BoxingScene.com reported.

A Tyson representative then indicated to New York Post that the ulcer flare-up had occurred 30 minutes before landing. Since he will not be able to return to full training in the coming weeks, it was deemed preferable to postpone the fight which was to take place on July 20, at AT&T Stadium in Arlington, Texas.

“My body is in its best shape since the 1990s and I will return to my regular training schedule soon,” Tyson said in a statement from his promoter. Jake Paul, you may have bought yourself some time, but in the end, you’ll still be knocked out. and pushed out of boxing for good.”

Jake Paul immediately responded to the statement with his usual confidence.

“I fully support the decision to postpone the fight so that Mike Tyson has no excuses on the day of the clash. My fans know I don’t want to fight ‘Iron Mike’ if he’s not in top form.”

Tyson, a former world heavyweight champion, will step into the ring for the first time since June 2005, when he was defeated by Kevin McBride.
