Deeply shocked by the sequence, Jean-Baptiste Montarnier thinks “to the little kids who haven’t come out and whoever hears that, I put myself in their place”he expressed himself.
For the president of the association, “we have to stop the match”in these cases. “The LFP has held awareness workshops, it’s a good thing but behind this continues, we need sanctions and action from the public authorities […] We would have heard monkeys screaming, we would have stopped the match immediately.”he argued. “We must fight all discrimination. We have to hit hard like with racism in football, we have the means to do it.”
The Minister of the Interior Bruno Retailleau said this Monday, in a publication on “take the necessary measures” following this incident. He also announced a meeting with French football authorities. “These are intolerable actions that I will not tolerate”he insisted.
