Elodie Gossuin – “Thank you for showing real life”, “A model for women”, “Hard, tough, still that face”, “You don’t look in good shape”: au naturel on Instragram, the former Miss France reassures some and annoys others

“There are mornings like this, in my mirror, I wonder if it’s really me or Tata Elo, my weird double.” This is what Elodie Gossuin writes in the caption of her latest Instagram post, adding: “Nature painting, accepting yourself, loving yourself a little even on bad days.” The former Miss then appears when she gets out of bed, without makeup and without blow drying. Sick, even, as she confides in her photos.

Yes, celebrities are nothing more and nothing less than “Cinderellas”: when the spotlight goes out, the evening outfits are put away, the makeup is removed and the hair is messed up. In the morning, they put on jogging pants, lifting their hair with a clip caught on the fly, and they slip their feet into slippers… Like us!

This is not the first time that the ex-beauty queen appears natural, calling on her subscribers to accept themselves as they are. In the comments, many people thank the mother of two pairs of twins for her natural attitude. “Thank you so much for sharing your natural photos with us! It feels good”launches a subscriber in the comments. “Thank you so much! It’s nice to know that we’re all the same”confides another. “So much naturalness, spontaneity, humor and simplicity.” All (or almost) are unanimous: “That’s what we like about you. Simplicity, humor, real life, nothing more and nothing less.”

And the comments don’t stop there: “Thank you for showing real life”, “Your post should be reimbursed by Social Security”, “A model for all women”, “It will unwind as many women as possible”. Elodie Gossuin must be delighted.

Obviously, not everyone appreciates Elodie Gossuin’s latest Instagram post. “Hard, still hard, this head”underlines a user in a comment. “You don’t look in good shape.”throws another. “Don’t you ever sleep?” There are therefore those who very clearly attack the natural physique of the mother of four children. And then those who don’t believe at all in the images they see before their eyes. “Why do you often take this kind of photos? I don’t believe it at all, it’s not simplicity as many people say… It doesn’t ring true”dares to comment on one. “She’s looking for something to complain about, and women who do 3x8s until they’re 62 don’t complain”continues the other.

Elodie Gossuin is not the only celebrity to dare to appear natural on social networks. Fashion phenomenon or real desire for authenticity? What does it matter, as long as they show that they are indeed like all of us, simple mortals.

Yes, stars also have wrinkles, pimples, redness and spots. Hair knots, spikes and discolored roots. Many people have shown it on Instagram in recent years, like Selena Gomez, Céline Dion, Ashley Graham, Blake Lively and Jennifer Lopez. Since Covid-19, the “no make-up” trend has taken hold across the world, for our greater good.
