Trail runner Manon Bohard finished first in the Grand Raid de la Diagonale des fous, in the women’s category. She completed the race in 31 hours, 49 minutes and 55 seconds, this being her first participation. A feat even though the sportswoman was injured in September.

It was in front of the finish line that Manon Bohard burst into tears. Tears of joy, a smile, and great relief. La Bisontine finished the 175 kilometers from the Diagonale des fous in 31 hours, 49 minutes and 55 seconds, in Saint-Denis. This is his very first participation.

A time which gives her first place in the women’s category. The sports car has greatly widened the gap with its competitors. Maryline Nakache, second on the podium, finished in 33 hours, 1 minute and 19 seconds.

“I will come back, for sure, because it is symbolic, it is legendary. It has nothing to envy of the other big races and I am happy to have taken part in this edition despite it being very complicated” , affirms Manon Bohard, after the race, at the microphone of the journalists of the 1ʳᵉ Réunion.

The thirty-year-old sportswoman has come a long way. She was injured during the Mont-Blanc Ultra-Trail last September. The sportswoman indicated on her networks that she suffered from two tears, in her calf and thigh.

After months of rehabilitation, she was able to put on her sneakers again for the adventure and proudly wear bib 2085.

However, high-level trail running is rather recent in Manon Bohard’s life. Born in Pontarlier, she grew up in a family passionate about this sport. In 2019, she settled down in Besançon and walked the paths of . In 2023, she becomes vice-world champion in long trail running in Austria. She shines the same year at the 115 kilometers of Madeira in Portugal. This victory at Reunion adds to his already full list of achievements.

Another Frenchman shone during this 2024 edition of the Diagonale des fous. Mathieu Blanchard. He finished first in the men’s Grand Raid, in 23 hours and 25 minutes. Note that this was also his very first participation.
