QMJHL summary from October 18: display of power by the Wildcats

The Moncton Wildcats won a sixth straight game on Friday night, crushing the Chicoutimi Saguenéens 7-1.

Forwards Markus Vidicek and Yoan Loshing each scored two goals while defenseman Étienne Morin had four assists.

Alex Mercier, Vincent Collard and Preston Lounsbury also found the back of the net for the winners. Caleb Desnoyers collected two assists.

Émile Guité scored the only goal for the Saguenéens, on passes from Loïc Usereau and Kassim Gaudet.

Jacob Steinman stopped 23 shots to win while his opposite number Raphaël Précourt made 34 saves in the defeat.

Perfect gravel in front of the Titan

Charles-Édward Gravel made 25 saves to lead the Saint-Jean Sea Dogs to a 3-0 victory over the Acadie-Bathurst Titan.

Florian Schenk, Tyler Peddle and Zachary Morin, in order, scored the Sea Dogs’ goals, which ended the Titan’s five-game winning streak.

Mathis Langevin stopped 22 pucks for the losers.

Two more points for Dagenais in a setback

Donovan Arsenault scored a goal and an assist to help the Val-d’Or Foreurs defeat the Quebec Remparts 4-3.

Alexandre Guy, Alix Durocher and Nathan Brisson also found the back of the net for the Foreurs, who dominated 43-21 in terms of shots. Cédric Massé obtained the victory thanks to 18 saves.

Maddox Dagenais had a goal and an assist in the loss. Louis-Antoine Denault stopped 39 shots.

Two doubles in the Phoenix victory

Lewis Gendron and Mavrick Lachance each scored two goals and the Sherbrooke Phoenix easily had the upper hand 6-2 against the Gatineau Olympics.

Chad Bellemare and Félix Ouellet scored the other goals for the Phoenix while Gabriel Séguin and Justin Boisselle responded for the Olympics.

Jacob Brochu only had to stop 14 pucks in the victory.

Gauthier and the Voltigeurs dominate

Ethan Gauthier scored two goals and the Drummondville Voltigeurs made short work of the Victoriaville Tigres, 8-2.

Sam Oliver also scored two goals while Luke Woodworth and Téo Besnier had four and three assists respectively.

Louis-Félix Charrois stopped 29 pucks to get the victory.

The Armada on board

Vincent Gladu made 26 saves to lead the Blainville-Boisbriand Armada to a 4-2 victory over the Baie-Comeau Drakkar.

Vincent Desjardins, Thomas Paquet, Justin Carbonneau and Eliot Ogonowski scored the Armada’s goals.

Kyle Morey and Jules Boilard provided the response for the Drakkar.
