This Tuesday, in Hungary, the GSHC plays its last group match of the Champions Hockey League! The Eagles face Fehérvár at 6:30 p.m. and they must score as many points as possible in order to hope to qualify for the round of 16
The Eagles are currently 18th in the standings and only the top 16 qualify for the CHL Playoffs. In total, 11 teams are competing with the GSHC for the last 9 qualifying places. Jan Cadieux’s men have been warned and must win the match against Fehérvár to give themselves the best possible chance of continuing the competition.
Genève-Servette has 7 points in 5 matches for 2 victories and 3 defeats. An average record which places the destiny of the Genevans in the hands of other teams. The Eagles are still largely favorites in this match against Fehérvár. The Hungarians did not win a single point, scoring 6 goals for 22 conceded. For their second participation in the CHL, they want to finish on a good note and in front of their supporters, they will fight hard to beat the reigning champion. The Garnets have been warned, they will have to play a serious match if they intend to continue in the competition. Any result other than a victory eliminates them permanently.
