The celebration was complete with a gala dinner and meeting with young people. All with a laudable goal: to raise awareness among the local population about water preservation as well as to raise funds for the Zakoura Foundation, a long-time actor committed to education and human development in Morocco.
The highlight of the show was a football match between two teams with diametrically opposed records. The Team of Heroes, which has already participated in this type of charity event in France, in particular, was made up of many quality players with a glorious past such as Robert Pires, El Hadji Diouf, Emmanuel Adebayor and even Christian Karembeu. Personalities from other worlds like Cyril Gane (MMA fighter), Just Riadh (content creator) or comedian Redouane Bougheraba were also present in this team.
A Belgian had to be present: Daniel Van Buyten. The former central defender of the Red Devils and Bayern Munich was unable to show off his physical power against the opposing team made up of locals, footballers and Moroccan personalities.
The setting was atypical since the match took place in the Agafay desert where lines had been drawn to demarcate a unique field of its kind. The score was not important. To the point of stopping counting goals. “A friendly match in its purest version,” says the organizer.
The event was a great success both in terms of atmosphere and organization. Ben Kouider said he was extremely satisfied and is already thinking about the future. “It was a first edition in Morocco. It was a success. It was a great success. And why not in Belgium.”
