England, finalist of Euro 2024, suffered an embarrassing 2-1 defeat against Greece on Thursday at Wembley in the second division of the Nations League, conceding a final goal in added time. Greece left London with the first victory in its history against the “Three Lions” selection, thanks to a double from its striker Vangelis Pavlidis (49th, 94th). Jude Bellingham had however equalized in the 87th minute with a powerful strike. In the other match, Ireland won 2-1 in Finland. In the standings, the Greeks dominate Group 2 of League B with 9 points, ahead of England (6), Ireland (3) and Finland (0), to whom the English travel on Sunday.
