Former child prodigy of French tennis, Richard Gasquet announces in the columns of “L’Equipe” his upcoming retirement. The Héraultais will end his career next year at Roland-Garros.

Gasquet (38 years old) has been fighting for months to regain his place in the ATP top-100. Today 133rd, the former world no.7 will be remembered as one of the most talented players of his generation, notably with his magnificent one-handed backhand.

Triple semi-finalist in Grand Slam – Wimbledon 2007 and 2015 and US Open 2013 – Gasquet has 16 titles to his name, the first in 2005 in Nottingham and the last in 2023 in Auckland and a victory in the Davis Cup in 2017.

Youngest winner on the circuit
