Out with an injury against Aston Villa (0-0), Mazraoui is out of the Atlas Lions gathering in October. He will be replaced by the left back of Raja de Casablanca, Youssef Belammari.
After a good start to the season with the Aigles Verts, Belammari will receive his first call-up to the national team during the double confrontation against the Central African Republic, counting for the 3rd and 4th days of the CAN 2025 qualifiers.
These two matches are scheduled for Saturday October 12 and Tuesday October 15, 2024 at 8:00 p.m., at the Stade d’Honneur in Oujda.
The Atlas Lions occupy first place in Group B with 6 points, after their respective victories against Gabon (4-1) and Lesotho (1-0). The Central African Republic is tied for 2nd with Gabon (3 points).
The African Cup of Nations will be held in Morocco from December 21, 2025 to January 18, 2026.
