“It doesn’t affect me”, Donnarumma reacts to criticism

Gianluigi Donnarumma, PSG goalkeeper, reacted, Sunday after the draw in (1-1), to the new criticism he received last week following the defeat against Arsenal (2-0) in the Champions League .

PSG lost its first place in Ligue 1 by conceding a draw in Nice (1-1) at the end of the 7th day of Ligue 1. For Gianluigi Donnarumma (25), his team failed at the start of the match dominated by the Aiglons, rewarded by a goal from Ali Abdi (38th). “We lost two points in the first half, which is a shame,” said the PSG goalkeeper. “The second half was better. The approach wasn’t good, but we will work to improve it.”

“I have big shoulders”

Deceived by the deflection of his teammate Nuno Mendes on goal, the Italian player was unable to do anything about this opening goal. He thus somewhat escaped the critics who escorted him again last week after the defeat at Arsenal (2-0) in the Champions League with his responsibility for the two English goals. He says he doesn’t pay attention to it.

“I’m ready for it, I have big shoulders, so it’s no big deal,” he said. I’m happy with myself and I’m happy to work with the team. We’re going to put a lot of effort into improving, and that doesn’t affect me, I’m happy and we’re going to continue this momentum.”

The former AC Milan goalkeeper looks ahead to the rest of the season and the rapid objective of regaining first place in Ligue 1. “It’s still a long way off and it’s not over, it’s just starting now”, warns the Italian international (68 caps). “It’s no big deal, but we will improve for the next game. It’s been a long time since we lost away, but the team always comes to win, so it’s a shame.”
