Adriana Caisso, who is preparing the 4L Trophy with Léo Baillis, came to meet students and teachers from the Saint-Rome-de-Cernon school to present the event to them.

After greeting the children, she expressed her joy at meeting them. A few years ago, like you, I did my first apprenticeship at the Cardabelles school, but it was in the old premises which were less comfortable than these, she called out. Today I come to tell you about this raid which will take us with Léo and 1200 other young people aged between 18 and 26 using 1200 4Ls in the Moroccan desert (ours will have number 969)”.

Very curious young Saint-Romains

The race will no longer have any secrets for children. The vehicle specially designed for the race, the compass, the road book, the 6,500 km circuit, and above all the aim of the expedition, both sporting and humanitarian: “Because we are going to take around 20 kg of food for the Moroccan Route Cross and 25 kg of school supplies which we will give to the schools in the most remote regions in the desert that we will cross”.

During the discussion, the CE and CM were curious about the motivations and organization of the event. Technical assistance, the length of the steps, the incidents that could arise and how to resolve them, were the subjects most often discussed.

The first graders and kindergarteners were more interested in the children the participants would meet, even if some were worried about stewardship: How will you eat, sleep, wash yourself? Adriana explained that the key word of the expedition was: solidarity between participants and the populations met in the schools where they will lead activities and offer school bags, notebooks, pencils.

The school logo soon to be affixed to the 4L

The little Saint-Romains asked a lot of questions and made suggestions. This is how the possibility of an exchange of letters and photos was raised. Ideas that Adriana retained by promising to be the ambassador of the school and the village and to come back and tell them about her trip.

Ella suggested to the children to draw a logo of the school which will be prominently placed on the 4L with that of the municipality and other sponsors, so the Cardabelle school will be known in all the territories crossed.

It was the first deputy, Raymond Fabrègues, who concluded this meeting by congratulating himself on having learned so much and announcing that the municipality supports the project with a grant awarded to crew 969.
