One point that’s all for Paris, held in check in Nice

Still undefeated in the championship, but held to a draw in (1-1), is two points behind Monaco. And the Parisians are definitely having difficulty applying their tactics, as was the case at Arsenal (2-0) on Tuesday in the Champions League. They even started with the Nice broth where the Aiglons quickly got into their match to try to cast doubt on the reigning French champions.

Ali Abdi, injured in the ankle after a collision with Achraf Hakimi, found his feet shortly before the break to convert Nice’s good first period. The Tunisian, on a corner from Jonathan Clauss pushed back by the Parisian defense in the center, took the ball from the left, deflected by Mendes, to deceive Donnarumma (38th). It’s his first goal of the season.

Mendes equalizes for Paris

Equalization from Nuno Mendes on an almost copied and pasted action from Abdi on the opening score, this time from the right (52nd). The Parisians were not far from the second goal just two minutes later, but Marquinhos’ header found the Nice post. The PSG captain almost made a mistake in his turn, and deceived his goalkeeper, by intervening in a tackle but the ball grazed the goal.

At the end of the game, the relationship seems to have reversed a little. Despite the attacks of Evann Guessand, essential on Sunday evening, it was the Parisians who camped in the Nice zone and created more and more chances.

This draw does not suit Paris in any case, which therefore leaves the lead in Ligue 1 to Monaco. On the eve of the international break, the reigning French champion, 17 points, is second and ahead of OM and , 14 points each.
Nice is 9th. During the eighth day, October 19, Paris will host to try to regain the lead in the championship from Monaco. We will then know if the 15 days of break will have allowed him to definitively get rid of his horrifying week.
