The Made in France Show, where France showcases its know-how

Tens of thousands of visitors are expected at the Made in Show to discover different areas of French know-how. Tourism, health, or even gastronomy… All sectors are represented. More than 1,000 exhibitors are ready to share their products and innovations. This Friday morning, the Minister of the Economy, Antoine Armand, met Alain Di Crescenzo, the president of the CCI, showing his support for French know-how. And the event is welcome at a time when industrial investment is struggling, as recalled by the vice-president of Medef interviewed at our microphone.

Promote small artisans

A thousand French companies gathered at the Made in France Show to show and sell their know-how. For Gilles Nattaf, the president of the Origine France Garantie label, this show is an important symbol. “The objective of the Made in France show is to show that we still have sectors in France, that we know how to manufacture, that there is a real appetite from the public. The know-how is there, the territories still have energy. So really promoting this capacity that France has to still produce on French territory”, he defends.

These very varied skills are represented at the Show as much by industrial companies, like Bic or Duralex, as by small artisans like Juliette Maes, linen clothing designer. She makes everything by hand in her workshop in the village of Meymac in Corrèze. “81% of the world's linen is produced here and it's a material that has only good qualities. Especially since we made it on site. I want to say as much as we value what we we do it from A to Z in the workshop: from drawing the pattern to making the piece.”

Among visitors, the approach appeals. Séverine, who comes every year, bought cosmetics produced in France on a stand at the entrance to the show. This consumer of local products emphasizes the need to “make French companies work”, so that they do not “export abroad”. And this year again, many visitors are making the trip. The organizers are delighted with the enthusiasm around this edition. Yesterday's attendance has already broken last year's records.
