Hertz will get rid of its fleet of around fifty Ford Mustang Mach-Es. Their particularity is to wear the Shelby badge, but also to appear at an inflated price.
In its fleet of electric cars, Hertz offered a special version of the Ford Mustang Mach-E. Black with gold stripes to recall the colors of the rental company, it also had a Shelby badge.
This is a tribute to the Rent-A-Racer program that Hertz offered in the 1960s. Subsequently, Hertz had done it again with other models of sports muscle cars, and wanted to relaunch it with the Mach -E.
Shelby made 100 of these cars just for Hertz. And since the company sells several dozen of them, it takes advantage of their unique appearance to make a nice added value.
Their other particularity is to have an active sound system reproducing exhaust noises. Finally, they have a different hood and front bumper. The rest are classic Mustang Mach-E GTs.
But thanks to their rarity, Hertz charges a minimum of $65,000 per copy. Or more or less the price of the same model new. And at this price, you have to count on nearly 100,000 kilometers with users who are not necessarily careful.
