three Anderlecht supporters remain in detention in Spain and will appear before a judge this Saturday!

If Sporting Anderlecht created a famous feat by winning on the pitch of Real Sociedad during the second day of the Europa League on Thursday evening, some of its supporters showed a bad example by being the perpetrators of trouble in the Basque stadium during the first period.

Projectiles and pieces of seat were thrown towards a lower stand which is specially used for families. Some also left the stadium and did not see the rest of the match.

A fine of 50,000 euros and no fans in Riga

The San Sebastian police were quick to react and arrested several RSCA “supporters”. Five spent the night from Thursday to Friday in detention. This Friday, two of them were released. The other three are still detained and will appear before a judge this Saturday.

The Anderlecht club also expects to be sanctioned following the incidents. Under a reprieve following the incidents at West Ham in October 2022 during the previous Conference League campaign, Sporting will undoubtedly have to pay an amount of 50,000 euros and will not be allowed to have supporters in Riga early November. As was the case in Silkeborg in November 2022.
