Laurent Brun: “Creating a seesaw”

For Le Mag, the journalist Laurent Brun has seen progress and wants this to continue for the Girondins de Bordeaux in terms of offensive transition.

“We have to be better at the offensive transition, and in particular the connection between the midfielders and the attackers, provided we have attackers obviously. There are a few more now, they must be able-bodied, not injured, not suspended… This transition from midfielders to attackers, and why not the defense can play a little higher… Against Châteaubriant in the second half, we put Malick Seck and Andy Carroll up front. It’s not the same style of play, but it’s somewhat the same player profile: powerful, athletic, defensive, capable of playing with his back and facing the goal, of heading, being in the area… Finally , I think that this association didn’t work too badly. I found it interesting, especially since it doubled on the sides. This mid-attack transition is in any case interesting, and we really need to develop it”

Will this victory on Sunday, even against D1, provoke something more for the future?

“A victory is a victory, and this victory is a qualification. Whoever the opponent is, it’s positive, it’s confidence. We have to use these matches so that it can create a shift.”
