Despite the poor performances of Paris Saint-Germain and OGC Nice, French football ends this European week with a decent record. With the victories of Stade Brestois, Losc and Olympique Lyonnais, as well as the draw for AS Monaco, France (5th, +1.000) did better than the Netherlands (6th, +0.833) at the UEFA index with matches from October 1 to 3.
In the Champions League, PSV Eindhoven drew 1-1 against Sporting CP and Feyenoord won 3-2 against Girona. In the Europa League, Ajax conceded a 1-1 draw at Slavia Prague, Twente also drew 1-1 against Fenerbahçe, and AZ Alkmaar lost 2-0 at Athletic Bilbao.
France has exactly 61,379 points, while the Netherlands is at 56,566. Portugal (7th) did better over the week with +1,200, but remains far behind with 53,016 points.

A nation’s UEFA index is calculated using the results of its clubs. In the championship phase, in the three European competitions, victory earns two points, a draw awards one point. The total number of clubs from the same country is then divided by the number of clubs initially entered in all competitions. For example, the points obtained each week by France are divided by seven, even if RC Lens was eliminated in the Conference League play-offs and there are only six French clubs in the running.
