The Swiss did not open the doors to a final at the World Relay Championships in the Bahamas. But the hope of qualifying for the Paris Olympic Games remains.

The mixed 4x400m relay left the best impression on the Swiss camp during the heats. With a time of 3’14″47, Ricky Petrucciani, Giulia Senn, Lionel Spitz and Annina Fahr came within 0″25 of the Swiss record. They signed the 9th time of the series to consider the repechage with real optimism.

In the 4x100m, Pascal Mancini, William Reais, Felix Svensson and Timothée Mumenthaler also convinced with the 12th time in 38″55. On the other hand, the women’s 4x100m relay made up of Géraldine Frey, Salomé Kora, Léonie Pointet and Sarah Atcho-Jaquier and 4x400m with Catia Gubelmann, Lena Wernli, Michelle Liem and Yasmin Giger, did not really fulfill their contract. They had to be content with 17th and 18th places respectively.

Sunday’s repechages will consist of 3 series on each of the 5 events. You must set one of the 2 best times in your series to qualify for the Paris Games.
