The reunion between Yannick Bru, manager of UBB, and his former president in Bayonne Philippe Tayeb was tense last Saturday at Jean-Dauger, at the end of the match and Bordeaux’s victory in the Basque Country (15-34).
As reported by South West, Bru, who had led Rowing for four years (2018-2022), would have wanted to greet the President of Rowing, near the sidelines by extending his hand. Tayeb allegedly refused to hug him, to which Bru reacted by slapping him on the back of the neck.
The incident did not escape the notice of the League’s disciplinary committee, which announced on Friday that it had opened an investigation: “At the end of the meeting, the federal representative designated during this meeting reported, in his post-match report, that an incident had taken place between a manager of Aviron Bayonnais Rugby Pro and a member of the staff of the Bordeaux-Bègles Unionit is written in the official press release. The president of the Disciplinary and Regulations Commission (LNR) has decided, to review this matter, to open an investigation. »
