The 37th day of the Eerste divisie (Dutch D2) experienced a real drama this Friday evening. With one day remaining, Roda JC, 2nd in the ranking, could validate its rise to the 1st division. But it also depends on the FC Groningen match, which was playing at the same time. In the event of Groningen’s defeat, Roda JC was assured of promotion to the first division.
