Thanks to a very good first half, the France team won on the night from Friday to Saturday against the United States, 15-19. They also finished in first place in their group and will face Canada in the quarter-finals.
They took their revenge. A month ago, during the Hong Kong tournament, the Blues lost to the Americans in the semi-final. This time they are the ones who come away with the victory, having shaken somewhat at the end of the match. In a perfectly controlled first period, the Blues took a significant lead. Lili Dezou, Montserrat Amédée, Marie Dupouy all scored a try, allowing David Courteix’s girls to swing to 19-5 at the break.
In the second period, they slowed down considerably and saw the Americans come back to 19-15, thanks to two tries, fortunately not converted. The Blues therefore qualify once again for the final phase, finishing first in Pool B.
In the quarter-final, the Blues will face the Canadians at 11:40 a.m.
