Could Girona’s incredible sporting season be under threat? The club, which is fighting for historic qualification in the Champions , is accused of alleged tax fraud with Oleksiy Lundovsky, agent of Artem Dovbyk, club striker and top scorer in the Spanish championship.

A case brought to UEFA

Ukrainian lawyer Evgeny Kuzmin brought this matter to the forefront in statements given to the media Sportarena. The lawyer explains that Lundovsky would have created an entity in Estonia in order not to pay taxes in , his habitual residence. He asks UEFA to study this irregularity.

“Girona had to pay the corresponding amount for the transfer of Artem Dovbyk. Taxation must be carried out in accordance with Ukrainian law. This is normal when the seller is Ukrainian, Dovbyk is Ukrainian and the agent is Ukrainian. All payments must be made only to Ukrainian bank accounts. In this case, it is not clear which documents were used to pay for the agency services of an Estonian company registered in the name of a Ukrainian agent. »

Evgeny Kuzmin then admits that a complaint was prepared to the “competent UEFA bodies, which will investigate these violations and take a fair and appropriate decision”.
