The Londoners will perform on Sunday May 5 (4 p.m.) on the Ernest-Wallon lawn, in the Champions semi-final. Frenchman Tual Trainini refereed them during their round of 16 in this competition, against Glasgow.

He directed the last two Top 14 finals, and is one of the most recognized French referees. Tual Trainini, 38, also works internationally. On April 5, he officiated in the Champions Cup, at the whistle of the round of 16 between Harlequins and Glsgow. A won by the Londoners 28-24.

“I wasn’t very bothered,” he says from the outset. “They didn’t come to discuss too much but it remains in the Anglo-Saxon way, demanding a lot. This does not necessarily come from the players on the field but rather from the environment, without necessarily a lot of animosity.”

He goes on to mention, too, a little cunning. “They’re trying it and on someone receptive or impressionable, it could work. But I don’t think it’s the best method with the French referees (smile). Afterwards, there are a few characters: Marler, Care… It’s not folkloric but it’s lively, pleasant.”
