The verdict is in: Parisian defender Lucas Hernandez, injured on Wednesday evening during the Champions League semi-final first leg between Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) and Borussia Dortmund (BVB), “suffers from a ruptured anterior cruciate ligament in his left knee”the capital club announced on Thursday May 2.

Hit during Niclas Füllkrug’s opening score for BVB (1-0, 36e), the 28-year-old remained on the ground for a long time after the impact. He had to be replaced in the central hinge by the Brazilian Lucas Beraldo.
Lucas Hernandez “will undergo surgery in the coming days” and will therefore not be present at the Parc des Princes, Tuesday May 7, for the second act of the double confrontation between the two teams.
The blow is tough for the capital club, which to keep intact its dream of a first title in the prestigious European competition must reverse the situation against Borussia without one of its experienced men.

“When I signed with PSG, I made a promise that I would give my heart and soul to this team, and that’s what I did. Unfortunately, during last night’s match, I got injured.
