The Spanish Higher Sports Council (CSD) meets on Thursday to study the actions to be taken to resolve the current crisis in the Spanish Football Federation, which could be placed under supervision according to the press. Already shaken by the scandal of the forced kiss of Luis Rubiales to the world champion Jenni Hermoso, the RFEF is now targeted by an investigation for corruption which led to the indictment of the former strong man of Spanish football and his successor by interim head of the Federation, Pedro Rocha.

Pedro Rocha declared unfit?

The Spanish government assured Tuesday, through the Secretary of State for Sports, José Manuel Uribes, that it would ” All “ For ” to sort out “ the Football Federation, which is in a “unacceptable situation”while she must prepare for the Olympic Games and the 2030 World Cup, awarded to Spain, Morocco and Portugal.

Among the options considered, the CSD could thus decide to declare interim president Pedro Rocha unfit to occupy this position while he is the only candidate in the elections for the presidency of the Federation which are scheduled for May 6.

But according to the Spanish press, the body could let him present himself and be officially elected, by creating a mixed commission, a sort of independent control body which could be headed by former coach Vicente del Bosque.

The Administrative Court of Sport (TAD) has just estimated in a report that Mr. Rocha and his interim management committed “very serious” mistakes by making decisions going beyond their competence, in particular by reappointing coach Luis de la Fuente.
