“These are not images I am proud of, on the contrary, they do not amuse me”

It’s the story of five friends and a Porsche . A story that is “ordinary” but not so ordinary. Because for several days, our five compatriots and their luxury car have been making the rounds of the web.

In a video originally posted by the Dutch website Bumpert, we can see our five friends – probably from West Flanders given their accent – on a small country road alongside a field. They are visibly drunk. At least that is what their behaviour suggests.

Hunting world in shock after two hunters killed: “When I turned around, I thought the second one was following us, but…”

In the footage, one of the young men is seen holding a rifle. Another then throws a yellow canister into the air, which may contain laughing gas, according to Het Nieuwsblad.

The man with the rifle probably tries to shoot the can, but it won’t be necessary. In fact, badly thrown, the can ended up on the windshield of the Porsche Cayenne, leaving a nice big dent in the process.

It is sad that the practices of a few individuals ruin the reputation of an entire industry.

It is not known exactly when the images date from, but they were probably taken this weekend. In the north of the country, wood pigeon and partridge hunting has in any case just been reopened. The spokesperson for Hubertus Vereniging Vlaanderen (HVV), which represents hunters in the north of the country, is in any case not amused by these images. “These are not images that I am proud of,” Christophe Rutsaert assures our colleagues at Nieuwsblad. “On the contrary, I am not amused by them.”

“For HVV, ethics and safety are very important, it hurts us to see things like this. It is sad that the practices of a few individuals ruin the reputation of an entire sector.” It is not yet known whether the young people involved are real shoemakers. If so, they risk having their license revoked and a fine.
