Rocket: Jean-François Houle is happy in Laval and sees himself returning with the Rocket

Faced with an uncertain future, Jean-François Houle clearly expressed his feelings: he is happy with the Laval Rocket and sees himself returning with the Montreal Canadiens’ school club next year.

This is what Houle declared during a press meeting with the media as part of the Rocket’s end-of-season review, early Sunday morning at Place Bell.

Less than 12 hours after the Rocket’s last game, which ended in a 2-1 loss at the hands of the Belleville Senators in Laval, Houle was alone when he spoke with journalists for almost 25 minutes.

“My desire is absolutely to come back here to Laval. I love it here, I love the organization, I love the people we work with. Absolutely, I want to be part of the organization,” he said in a tone that left no room for doubt.

After completing this exercise, Houle was to conduct exit interviews with the team’s players, along with general manager John Sedgwick.

During his discussions with the media on Sunday morning, Houle clarified that he had spoken to Sedgwick on Saturday evening and that the two men would have a conversation later in the day.

Houle has just completed his third season at the helm of the team and this is the first time that the Rocket has not participated in the playoffs during his reign.

Leading a relatively young team this season, Houle said he was particularly impressed by the progress of goalkeeper Jakub Dobes.
