Brest sends a gift to Micah Richards and Thierry Henry after jokes about the Breton club

Stade Brestois this week sent a jersey designed especially for consultant Micah Richards, CBS consultant, after a sequence that went viral of the Englishman making fun of the name of the Breton club during Champions League evenings. Thierry Henry has not been forgotten either.

After surprising Ligue 1 by finishing on the podium in 2023-2024, Stade Brestois also brought a breath of fresh air to the Champions League. Despite their disappointing defeat against Shakhtar Donestk (2-0) this Wednesday, the Bretons are guaranteed to compete in the play-offs of the prestigious competition. But the Finistère club also does not forget to take care of its communication and took a great initiative on the occasion of the seventh day by offering a new jersey to Micah Richards.

According to information from RMC Sport, within the club, we are very happy with the publicity stunt born from an idea from the three who work in communication and with the press.

“Dear CBS friends, thank you for your careful attention to Brest's performance since the start of the Champions League. We enjoyed watching your laughter in the studio so we made a special 'Brest lover' jersey for Micah,” said thus justified Stade Brestois in a letter sent to the channel with the jerseys at the beginning of December. “We couldn't resist offering a Brest jersey to our legend Thierry Henry, to whom we send our warmest greetings.”

“You are doing a fantastic job in the Champions League”

Comrade of Thierry Henry in a famous show on the CBS Sports channel, the former Manchester City full-back stood out in a hilarious sequence on Brest, whose homophone in English means “breasts”.

After going around the world for its gritty jokes, the video gave a idea to the people of Brest who sent a club jersey flocked with the Englishman's favorite number 2. Except that instead of his name, the troublemaker was entitled to “Brest Lover”, meaning “lover of Brest”. Unsurprisingly, the former Skyblues, Fiorentina and Aston Villa player immediately put on his new tunic and thanked Brest in a beautiful message.

“On behalf of the CBS family, I just want to say thank you very much,” said Micah Richards. “I really appreciate it and you are doing a fantastic job in the Champions League this season. Hopefully it lasts.”

Henry got a present, Carragher sad to have been forgotten

Thierry Henry did not, however, put on his jersey flocked with the number 14 and a sober “Henry”. Under the amused gaze of host Kate Scott, Jamie Carragher kindly joked about the oversight of Stade Brestois, who did not think of sending him a tunic like the two other consultants.

The former Liverpool man tried in vain to recall that he had said the best sentence about the Breton club… even if he was unable to remember it this Wednesday. But anyway, impossible for him to dethrone Micah Richards. Brest jersey on his back and totally hilarious, the Englishman launched a final attack on the Bretons. “What happens when they face Nice”, blurted out the ex-Manchester City player in a final below-the-belt bravado on the Nice-Brest poster (understand “pretty chest” in English).
