Former French team coach Raymond Domenech, ex-president of the French coaches' union, sparked a lot of reactions after a message posted on X in which he spoke of the “De Zerbi project” at Stade Rennais. He had fun with his blunder on Sunday morning on the social network.
By turning on the foreign coaches who work in France, Raymond Domenech had to end up getting confused. And when you make a mistake on social media, the backlash is spicy. The former president of Unecatef, the French coaches' union, noted this after posting a message on the new defeat conceded by Stade Rennais against Brest (1-2) on Saturday at Roazhon Park: “Rennes beaten again at home by Brest, the De Zerbi project does not take off, when will Stéphan return”, mocked the ex-Blues coach on X. “It’s true that I mix coaches from another world”
After a small tackle sent to the defenders of OL, his former club (“I tremble at each Toulouse attack and even more when the defenders have the ball”), Raymond Domenech admitted his mistake: “It's true that I mix coaches from another world,” he wrote, recalling that Sampaoli was no longer on the bench at Olympique de Marseille.
-Finally amused by all the reactions provoked by his blunder, he even boasted this Sunday: “Great, I beat my retweet record (more than 450 Sunday lunchtime, Editor's note) thanks to a mistake in the coach's name.” And to conclude by ironically about the network owned by Elon Musk: “Like what on X spreading false information has more impact than telling truths.”
