Mamadou Ousseynou Ly, head of the said center, said he noted “ for several years », the occupation of land falling within the domain of the CRZ, on the basis of acts whose legality he contests.

Kolda Town Hall, in particular, “ has initiated construction work on a stadium in the CRZ area, and faced with this observation, we are launching an urgent appeal to the authorities, so that they can provide solutions, because without land, research remains compromised in this area. part of Kolda region “, he declared during a meeting with journalists last Saturday.

He denounced to the media, in the presence of other researchers, “illegal occupations” which, they say, seriously affect the research projects of the Senegalese Agricultural Research Institute (ISRA) in the region.

« There were 2000 plots allocated on the CRZ land title (n°TF346/HC) by deliberation of the Dioulacolon town hall », not to mention that the town hall of Kolda “ occupies a site belonging to the CRZ without declassification and everything was done without first consulting the CRZ », regretted Mr. Ly.

« Currently, we have more than 250 heads of cows which, without grazing land, are also threatened along with the research value chain, because we must have land to experiment with the results of our research on fruit growing. , agroforestry, without forgetting the hundreds of jobs that local populations benefit from », alerted Mamadou Ousseynou Ly.

The managers of the Kolda zootechnical research center nevertheless say they are open to dialogue and consultation with local authorities and the stakeholders concerned, to find lasting solutions and preserve the land resources of the said center, essential in their eyes, to ensure good health. carrying out research programs.

The site mentioned by the head of the Kolda zootechnical research center is part of a land base on which the Ministry in charge of Urban Planning will deliberate in 2022, reacted the mayor of Kolda, Mamadou Diao known as Mame Boye Diao.

« It is the State of Senegal, through the Ministry of Urban Planning, which allocated to the commune of Kolda, a certain number of land bases to house infrastructures in 2022 and these letters were directly intended for the governor by Kolda “, he clarified.

The town hall delayed for a year » the achievements planned on this site, “ to allow all stakeholders to consult, and I am clear, this site is in the domain of the base allocated to the municipality of Kolda », insisted the councilor.

According to the mayor, the site in question will house various infrastructures including the municipal stadium, a teaching city, the craft village, a fish farming unit and a large aircraft station.

« We are in a very serious state, and if these are land issues, you have a specialist in front of you. But here, I speak as mayor, and again, I remain categorical, on this question, it is indeed a site attributed to the town hall of Kolda », continued Mamadou Diao.

Contacted in turn, the mayor of Dioulacolon, Boukary Mballo known as Bouba Mballo, declared that this question falls under the management of the municipal team in place, before his election.
