Le Havre – RC Lens: Still savors the victory and judges Koyalipou’s first

Will Still's reaction after RC ' victory on the pitch (1-2).

This Sunday, RC Lens closed its first part of the season with a victory against Le Havre (1-2, tops, flops and notes). Trailing from the 8th minute on a goal from Ayew, the RCL reversed the situation, thanks to rookie Koyalipou (28th), and Machado (77th). After the meeting, coach Will Still delivered his reaction to DAZN.

Will Still doesn't want to waste his energy

“We knew it wasn’t going to be easy, and it was. These kinds of matches are complicated, but we managed to win. We were strong collectively, so that’s a good thing.

Koyalipou? He played until last week in Bulgaria, so he was ready. A guy who scores goals every week, you have to play him. He had a little pussy on his goal, but he finished well. We must leave him with confidence, he did the work asked of him today.

The noise around Lens? We must not waste energy or focus on things we cannot control. These are things totally beyond my reach. We control the pitch, the match, the opponents… There are a lot of points of attention in Lens, things that are said, but if I lose energy responding, we lose our main objective. We finished the first round of the season in 7th place, so it’s up to us to keep pushing.

Communion with the supporters? It feels good to share that with them, it’s nice, it’s always cool.”
