As the round of 16 of the Coupe de France approaches, during which LOSC travels to Marseille, the French Football Federation has revealed the identity of the referees who will officiate at this stage of the competition.
In difficulty since its return to competition in 2025, LOSC has not yet been able to raise its arms, neutralized twice. FC Nantes first snatched a draw (1-1) on the lawn of the Decathlon Arena – Stade Pierre Mauroy, when AJ Auxerre resisted the Lille offensives (0-0) in the enclosure of the Stade de l’ Abbé-Deschamps. This time, during their next match, Bruno Genesio’s men will not be able to record a draw, since they face Olympique de Marseille in the round of 32 of the Coupe de France.
This duel, a real shock at this stage of the competition, will be led by Clément Turpin (42 years old). The third best referee of the 2023-2024 season will be accompanied by Nicolas Danos
et Christophe Mouysset in the role of assistant. Jeremy Stinat will be the replacement referee.
The Dogues’ trip to the Orange Vélodrome will be Clément Turpin’s twentieth outing, including eight in Ligue 1, this season. Since his start, he has met LOSC once, during a home victory over Toulouse FC (2-1), and OM twice, with victories over Montpellier (0-5) and AS Monaco (2-1), i.e. 100% for both teams. The trend is different when we focus on its results, tilting more favorably towards the Lille team. In 44 matches during which Clément Turpin officiated, LOSC shone 21 times, against 13 draws and 10 defeats. For the same total of games, the Marseille balance is different with only 15 victories, against 10 draws and 19 defeats.
