Stade Rennais coach, Jorge Sampaoli, was at a press conference this Thursday before Rennes – OM.
This Saturday (9 p.m.), Stade Rennais will host OM at Roazhon Park. This will be an opportunity for Jorge Sampaoli to reunite with Marseille, the club he coached during the 2021-2022 season. Present this Thursday at a press conference two days before this clash against the Olympians, the Rennes coach took stock of the forces present. He has his entire group, apart from the injured Alidu Seidu and Dogan Alemdar. Brice Samba, recently arrived in Rennes from RC Lens, will therefore make his first appearance in the Rennes group.
Samba or Mandanda holder? Sampaoli maintains the suspense
But Jorge Sampaoli maintained the suspense over whether or not the French international goalkeeper would start against OM. “I haven’t made a final decision, we will decide by Saturday depending on Brice’s state of form. He’s a very important player, but he hasn’t played since December 14. I hope it will quickly be a productive transfer,” explained the Argentine technician before being questioned about the situation of Steve Mandanda. “It’s complex, he’s in an uncomfortable situation. I want to give him stability so that he fights for the number 1 position,” he replied.
