In the end year 2024, Bruno Genesio gave a brief assessment of the players loaned by LOSC. This was positive, especially for the Lille youth.
The last summer period proved to be particularly eventful among the Mastiffs, where around twenty movements were recorded. Nine departures (see below) in the form of loans were made: “There are two types of loan. Loans of players that we do not wish to keep and then loans of young players who do not have enough playing time with their training club, as may be the case here in Lille, but who have a level higher than that of our reserve team »explained Bruno Genesio at the end of November.
The latter focused in particular on members of Lille's youth, detailing the importance of offering them a new environment so that they can evolve: “It’s important to be able to evaluate them at a higher level. Ligue 2 or the National, whether for Trevis (Dago),
Ugo (Raghhouber) or Vincent (Burlet)it's a great opportunity for them to have playing time and for us to evaluate them in a context different from what they were used to with us. We know that when we are young, we need to play matches”he confided to the media.
How does it work?
Launched on the subject, the LOSC coach revealed some behind the scenes, highlighting the missions entrusted to Franck Béria and Jérémie Bréchet: “There are basically two people who follow the loaned players. There is Franck Beriawho regularly watches the matches of young players on loan, and Jeremy Brechet who is on my staff, as an assistant, but who is also assigned to training. It makes the link between the training and usconfided Bruno Genesio. There are permanent and regular exchanges between them on the development of our loaned players. Then, we debrief with Jérémie. I think there are positives”he exclaimed at the time, without going into case by case.
A formula that works
A sign that there is something positive, especially among the youngest elements looking for playing time in order to continue their progress, LOSC has done it again in recent hours by formalizing the departure of Ousmane Touré (19 years old). Little used by Bruno Genesio this season (3 appearances), the central defender capable of playing on the right flank is loaned to Valenciennes, in National, where he will improve throughout the second part of the season. A few years before him, a certain Lucas Chevalier had followed the same path. The effects were very positive.
The list of loaned players, with the Lille native, has grown to ten individuals: Ichem Ferrah (FC Rouen 1899), Vincent Burlet (Le Mans FC), Trévis Dago (FC Annecy), Ugo Raghouber (USL Dunkerque), Haukur Haraldsson (IA Akranes), Tiago Morais (Rio Ave FC), Andrej Ilic (Union Berlin), Alan Virginius (BSC Young Boys) and Ignacio Miramon (Boca Juniors). Watch out, Franck Béria and Jérémie Bréchet are watching you.
