Wednesday January 8, 2025 at 3 p.m., a fire broke out on the site of the LAT Nitrogen factory in Grand-Quevilly, on the left bank of the metropolitan area.

“This shutdown resulted in the security of the installations with the devices provided for this purpose,” informs the Allo Industrie website. During this safety shutdown, the safety valve operated, causing noise pollution without impact and without seriousness. »

Triggering the siren

Furthermore, the factory activated its internal operation plan and its warning siren, and the crisis management unit was deployed. At 3:10 p.m. the event was under control.

“There are no injuries or impact for employees, local residents or the environment,” specifies Allo Industrie.

The Seine-Maritime prefecture indicates: “The unit is at a standstill. It will only restart following the identification of the origin of the malfunction and safety checks. »
