Two days after Vinicius' red card at Valencia in La Liga, Carlo Ancelotti came to the Brazilian striker's defense.
Vinicius can count on the support of Carlo Ancelotti. This Sunday, on the eve of a 16th final of the Copa del Rey against Club Deportiva Minera (a D4 club), the Italian coach defended the Brazilian striker, expelled in La Liga in Valencia on Friday evening for having responded to 'an ugly gesture to a provocation from the opposing goalkeeper.
Carlo Ancelotti first returned to this incident, which according to him did not deserve more than a yellow card. Before commenting more generally: “I'm not in his shoes but it's difficult to be Vinicius. It's difficult to put up with everything that happens and the insults.”
“He’s trying to improve.”
On his social networks, Vinicius apologized after his red card while Real Madrid managed to overthrow Valencia (2-1) outnumbered. “It's not easy, but he is trying to improve. He is sad about the red card and apologized, but we have to move forward,” Ancelotti continued.
Carlo Ancelotti also hopes that his player will not be punished more harshly by the authorities. Vinicius now faces between two and four match suspensions. This Monday, the “Mister” should take advantage of it anyway to give the replacements some playing time.
