ASSE would carefully follow the performances of Swedish winger Momodou Sonko (La Gantoise, 19 years old).
Having passed very close to the nice coup Sebastian Nanasi, who finally joined RC Strasbourg last summer, AS Saint-Etienne would still consider offering a Swede this winter… But this time to fill the need in the position wingman.
According to the FootInsiders site, ASSE is in the running to recruit the will-o'-the-wisp from Gantoise, Momodou Sonko (19 years old). Recruited for €7.25 million from Häcken in January 2024 following the departure of Malick Fofana, the Swedish U21 international – who plays more on the left – is however not on the market this winter and Kilmer Sports will have to make a significant new investment if he wants to bring him.

Fast, hard-hitting and dribbling winger, Momodou Sonko has had a very honest start to the season in the Jupiler League where he has scored 4 goals in 22 appearances. The Gothenburg native is still under contract with KAA Gent until June 2028 and is currently valued by the Transfermarkt platform at €4 million.
It remains to be seen whether the good performance of Augustine Boakye, double scorer against Reims, can reshuffle the cards and ultimately encourage the Greens to review some of their plans for the month of January…
