The young and talented Stade de Reims goalkeeper, Yehvann Diouf, took over from Luka Elsner at the pre-match press conference against Saint-Étienne. Asked about his former captain, the young man was very complimentary towards the one who left Reims for Forez last summer.
Yehvann Diouf : “I have to call him. He's going to be suspended for the match, I would have liked to play against him. Obviously, it would have been a hell of a duel. I'm still following him at Saint-Étienne, it's a bit complicated I only wish him good things. Fortunately for us he is suspended because he is still a quality player. I wish him a lot of good things and hope that the second half of the season for Saint-Étienne is good. better than the first but I prefer to finish in front of them all the same (laughs).
For me, Yunis was a bit like a big brother. I have always known him since I arrived in Reims. I didn't always know him as a captain but I always knew him as a leader. I was very close to him all these years. We shared the same room during the green days. He is someone I hold in high esteem. These difficulties at the start of the season obviously saddened me. I know that he is an ambitious person, that he is a competitor who always questions himself and he is a worker. No need to send him messages every match where things are difficult. He doesn't need that. I am, I wish him the best and that’s it.”
