The 2024-2025 winter transfer window has arrived (during the entire month of January), so rumors around Paris Saint-Germain are piling up. Today it is PSG Inside Act which ensures that discussions have been launched with several internationals who are at the end of their contracts next June: Joshua Kimmich (29-year-old midfielder from Bayern Munich), Mohamed Salah (32-year-old striker from Liverpool), Heung-Min Son (forward 32 years old from Tottenham), Paulo Dybala (31 year old striker from AS Roma) and Leroy Sané (28 year old winger from Bayern Munich).
“Paris Saint-Germain is preparing to strengthen its squad by signing players whose contracts expire in June. Potential targets include football stars such as Joshua Kimmich, Mohamed Salah, Heung-Min Son, Paulo Dybala and Leroy Sané. These are just the first discussions. It is certain that not all of them will come. But if Paris could hire one, they will. »
We remain cautious, there is nothing official at the moment. For Salah, it is an issue that has already been discussed for a while and which oscillates between a small hope and an extension which is taking shape at Liverpool. Kimmich already hosted last summer, but it was impossible to conclude a transfer without knowing whether the blockage came from the player or from Bayern Munich. Or simply if PSG has not made a concrete offer.
Dybala is an old lead who can be revived by his contractual situation, while Son has been mentioned a few times. Sané was a winger in high demand, he is in more difficulty today.
They are very talented players, of course. We can wonder if today PSG wants them in its project. Some say no, since recruitment has mainly been towards young talents. But Paris does not only have to recruit young people for the rest of their lives. Above all, it was necessary to rebuild a strong collective on healthy foundations in order to be able to grow.
Difficult to say no to a very great player if the opportunity exists. It remains to be seen who can be a real asset by joining the collective and accepting the competition. Given the current season, it seems complicated to ignore Kimmich or Salah.
Now let's wait and see if a discussion indeed exists. Then, we would have to fight for an agreement, possible but very complicated.
