The Chinese battery manufacturer Gotion High-Tech announced, Monday January 6, the implementation of its strategic production plan on a global scale, with particular attention paid to the launch of new production bases. Among these projects is the site dedicated to batteries for renewable energies in Morocco, an investment of thirteen billion dirhams. Its launch is imminent, it has been claimed.

In a statement posted on its interactive platform, the company confirmed that four of its Pack factories, located in Germany, Indonesia, Thailand and Silicon Valley, have already started production. Additionally, its battery cell factory in Vietnam is now fully operational.

The future Moroccan base is part of Gotion High-Tech’s global strategy intended to meet the growing demand for energy storage solutions in different regions of the world. The company sees Morocco as a strategic crossroads for accessing African and European markets thanks to the kingdom’s geographical position and its commitment to renewable energy.

In the third quarter of 2024, Gotion High-Tech recorded revenue of 83.81 billion yuan, up 28.16% year-on-year, with net profit of 1.41 billion yuan (+69.82%). This performance demonstrates the group’s momentum in the global battery market, which it considers to be a rapidly expanding sector thanks to technological advances, falling costs and the support policies in force.

The company reaffirmed its optimism about the outlook for the global energy storage market and its commitment to tailoring its plans to the specific demand of each region. With the Moroccan project, Gotion High-Tech wants to strengthen its role in the energy transition on an international scale, according to its leaders.
